Ancient Wisdom for the Modern World
Ancient Wisdom for the Modern World
We enjoy physical abundance, physical comfort, and all that technological advancement has to offer. However, modern life can also be hectic, complicated, stressful, and disconnected from the world around us. Living in disharmony with nature is seen as the primary cause of disease and our aim at Vaidyaka is to guide one towards equanimity.
But what does it look like to have balance in our lives? If you had the opportunity to take control of your physical and mental health through responsibility and understanding, would you take it?
Through the wisdom of Ayurveda (Indian medicine) and Jyotish (Indian or Vedic Astrology) we can take accountability for our health, enabling us to find balance within the discord that the modern world creates for us. Both of these systems of science have been around since time immemorial within India’s rich cultural heritage, readily available to those who seek true health. They provide a map, so to speak, in which we are able to look very clearly at who we are and how we can make changes to provide a more fulfilling experience of what life can be.
In Caraka Samhita it is said:
धर्मार्थकाममोक्षाणामारोग्यं मूलमुत्तमम्||१५||
dharma-artha-kāma-mōkṣāṇām-ārōgyaṁ mūlam-uttamam||15||
“Ārogya (health) is the mūlam uttamam (greatest source) for us to be able to attain the four aims of life; Dharma (morality), Artha (sustenance), Kama (pleasure), Moksha (spiritual liberation).
Meaning, that if we want to have a fulfilling life, it is important to have great health.
Our goal at Vaidyaka is to create balance through the disciplines of Ayurveda and Jyotish so that the client can live a life of fulfillment by being disease free.
